Whether you live in London or are just visiting, there are many cool places to spend your time. Many areas of the city are up and coming and many have been artsy paradises for many years. We have gathered a list of six of our favourite regions of London for you to look at. In each one, you will find great bars, interesting buildings and a brilliant atmosphere.

Shoreditch

Shoreditch is one of the most commonly known ‘cool’ areas in London. With the famous Brick Lane situated right in the middle, there are a plethora of really cool bars and restaurants. If you want brilliant Indian food then Brick Lane is your place. If you fancy treating yourself to some new vinyl then check out Rough Trade. It’s a famous music shop tucked up a lane in the heart of Shoreditch.

Camden

Again one of the most famous suspects, Camden is well known for its amazing markets. In the markets and out, many retailers there provide fantastic street food and really artsy wares. It’s the perfect place to go to find a unique souvenir.

Dalston

Dalston has managed not to slip from the ‘cool places’ rankings despite having been a popular area amongst the arts scene for many years. It is probably one of the best areas if you’re looking for a big night on the town. From the famous VFD club to the Dalston Eastern Curve garden, you need to spend a good bit of time here to really appreciate all it has to offer.

 

Brixton

If you fancy a night out but don’t want to necessarily pay ‘London prices’ then Brixton may have something for you. It’s a great place for just chilling with a pint. There’s a new food market called Pop Briton that is proving to be very popular with locals, who can share unwanted food at the event if they wish.

Soho

Soho has a deep artistic history and is famous for its bohemian feel and great bars. It’s been home to writers, musicians and creatives as far back as the Tudor times and it shows. In this fabulous area, there is even a car park (The Brewer Street Car Park) that has been turned into a venue for various types of events.

Chelsea

If you’re into that kind of thing, then the show Made In Chelsea will tell you all you need to know about this area. All of the bars, clubs and restaurants are a step above the rest. If you’re looking for a treat, this is your place.
